Julia Laxer

I write for myself.
Portland, Oregon, U.S.A.
Julia Laxer lives for the stories and writes in the afternoons from a rickety desk in a rose-lit room in downtown Portland. You can find her work in So to Speak: a Feminist Journal of Language and Art, Small Po[r]tions, The Nervous Breakdown, Litro Magazine, The Los Angeles Review, Working It, Mannequin Haus, Nailed Magazine, The Grief Diaries, The Unchaste Readers’ Anthology, and in The Red Umbrella Project’s anthology: Prose & Lore. Julia received the Orlando Prize for Nonfiction from the A Room Of Her Own Foundation (AROHO) for her essay, “Letter To My Sister In A Mental Hospital.” She has poetry upcoming in Situate Magazine and nonfiction upcoming in Exotic Magazine. Julia is a relentless cat lady and not at all mysterious.
